Sorry to send this message to the list, but I want to be sure all
Outing leaders are informed (I may have already sent you an email...
but hey... here it is again).

If you filled out (or I filled out for you) a blue "Wisconsin Union
Key Authorization Card", read on.

Thanks,
Jenny

*Please read this message in its entirety.*
(seriously)

----------
We anticipate that on Wednesday, December 13 the majority of inside
Memorial Union Hoofer locks will be replaced.

----------
You will need to return ALL of your old Hoofer keys to get your new keys.

Pay either $20 if you are getting your keys for the first time
(congratulations on being a new Hoofer leader!) or $5 if you are
upgrading from old keys to new keys. Cash, check, or credit card is
accepted.

----------
Keys will be distributed at Tuesday's general meeting (December 12).
I (Jenny) will be in the Hoofer Lounge at 6:00pm to start exchanging
keys. It's going to be a semi-slow process-- there's paperwork! -- so
please be patient. If I cannot get to you before the meeting, I will
be out in the hallway during the meeting, and I will stay in the
Lounge/Chartroom area after the meeting until everyone is attended to.

If you cannot make next Tuesday's meeting, you may stop by the Outdoor
Programs Office from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday to turn in your
old/pick up your new keys. I will also be at the "next-next" general
meeting (Tuesday, December 19) to distribute keys, if you like.

Please note that if you are planning to use Hoofer equipment the
following weekend (Dec 15-17), some of the locks will have been
replaced!

----------
I'm sure we all realize that there are bound to be some minor glitches
once the locks are changed (your key request card was missed, one of
the new locks doesn't match the key, a lock doesn't work, etc.).
*Please* be patient with and respectful to the OPO/Hoofer/Union
staff-- they will be working extremely hard during this changeover
time.

Lastly, the key change will take place in two phases, and the
Lakefront keys, which are used primarily in the summertime anyway,
will be changed later this month.
