So I've been thinking about this for a while. I want to paddle in Chile on
the Futaleufu. Really, really badly. But, it would also rock my world if
some Hoofers could come with me.
Here's the details: Kayak Futaleufu (www.kayakfu.com) guides trips on the
(you guessed it) Futaleufu river. The Futaleufu is a big-volume river much
like the Ottawa and the Gauley, only with beautiful turquoise water. The
trip is 10 days long, including travel, and you will spend six of them on
the river. The point of the trip is to soak in all of the scenery and get
world-class instruction on an awesome river. Paddlers with skills ranging
from class II to V can be accommodated.
There are four 10-day slots left. They are:
Jan 22 to 29
Jan 29 to Feb 5
Feb 5 to 12
Feb 19 to 25
Now, the hard part. Flights to this particular area in Chile cost somewhere
between $1,200 and $1,500 from Chicago. The trip itself costs $1995. Added
in with spending money and entry tax into Chile, the total trip will cost
around $4,000.
So, I know that's a lot of your hard-earned cash and the trip dates are
coming up soon, but you only live once, right? Let me know if you are
interested by January 1st, and we'll start planning!
Cheers,
Crystal
p.s. If no one can go, maybe I'll organize a skiing trip out west instead.
That's almost as good as kayaking in Chile and much, much cheaper. =)
