WOOOHOOOO!!!! The 20th annual Fall Colors canoe trip!!!!
The weather is supposed to be on the cool side, but otherwise very sunny and nice. Bring warm stuff for sitting around the campfire.
Ok, I've led this thing 18 of the past 19 years, so here is a gear list and other info for the trip:
Here's the gear list:
One important thing to note: when loading your lifevest and paddle, be
sure that no one else claims your stuff. It often happens this way: one
person selects a lifevest and paddle, brings it up to the loading area.
Someone else sees it lying there, and puts it into a vehicle. We now
have one paddle and one lifevest for two people.
FALL WEEKEND CANOE TRIP
Clothes: bring at least the following:
-raingear, top and bottoms
-spare footwear, socks
-two pair of pants - put one pair in with your:
-complete change of clothes in water proof container (dry bag or garbage
bag or zip lock)
-some warm clothes (sweater, sweatshirt, pile jacket, wool shirt.maybe
even some long underwear)
-rain/sun hat
-towel, toothbrush and paste, soap?, comb?
-shorts? swimsuit?
-wool hat? gloves?
? means "optional". Also, please note: cotton stays wet, wool and
synthetics don't
Camping Gear:
-mess kit, cup, fork and spoon
-sleeping bag and pad
-flashlight
-waterbottle, matches, pocketknife, bandana, twine, etc...
-bug dope,sunblock
-glasses,sunglasses
-daypack
-camera?binoculars?reading material?
-duffel bag or pack to put all this stuff in
-tent(this is a group thing,but bring one if you have one)
Paddling Gear:
-lifejacket that fits
-correct length paddle
Food:
-personal drinks, lunch? dinner? breakfast? snacks?
