[BOATERS] NRS gear order 2006

Each year at this time, we place a bulk order for boating apparel and 
gear from NRS. This is your chance to get warm-when-wet clothing, 
shoes, gloves and anything carrying the NRS brand name at a 30% 
discount. This includes paddle jackets, wetsuits, drytops, safety 
ropes, knives, etc.

You can check the NRS website (NRSweb.com) to look at their products. 
If there is sufficient interest, we can arrange a trip to our two local 
paddle shops to look at gear and try things on to determine your size. 
If you are new to kayaking (both sea and WW) or canoeing, talk to a 
paddler you know about what clothing items you should buy first. The 
more warm-when-wet gear you own, the longer you can stay on the water 
in the fall, and the earlier you can get back on the water in the 
spring.

I will start taking orders and accepting payments at the meeting next 
Tuesday (26 September. Unlike last year, there is a defined end to 
ordering - I will stop taking orders on 4 October, which gives you two 
weeks to order. There is a $1000 minimum, but there are lots of new 
paddlers in canoes, sea kayaks and whitewater kayaks this year, so this 
should not be a problem. If you are a poor student, consider asking 
your loved ones to give you some gear for Xmas!
