Description: I am leading an intermediate cross-country skiing trip to Gov. Dodge State Park this coming Saturday. Gov. Dodge SP is a beautiful area with lots of hills and diverse scenery ranging from prairie to forested uplands and lowlands; there are several lakes, a waterfall, rock outcrops and a 2 springhouses. The trip is intermediate because of the hills, and because I would like to cover 15+ miles of trails and be moving for most of the time we are at the park. You should dress warmly and in layers with water-resistant pants, and bring the following: daypack/fannie pack, extra undershirt+socks (these will get wet), extra water (> 1-2 liters, packed in such a way that it won't freeze), lunch that can be eaten on the trail, extra cash (for gas, park sticker if you need it, and trail passes if they are required, and dinner), and sunscreen if you need it. We will meet at Park St. Circle at 8:30 AM to gather gear, then drive ~1.25 h west to the Park, ski until late afterno!
 on, and then return via Mt. Horeb and eat dinner at the Grumpy Troll. Expected return time ~ 7 PM. Please indicate on the online signup whether you can drive and whether you can carry skis.
